What are the serial numbers associated with DALI-2 control gear and luminaires?

DALI-2 control gear that are used inside luminaires have space for two serial numbers:

The control gear identification number (serial number). This:

• is mandatory
• is stored in memory bank 0
• is set by the control gear manufacturer
• can’t be changed.

The OEM/luminaire identification number (serial number). This:

• is optional
• is stored in optional memory bank 1
• is normally set by the luminaire manufacturer
• can be changed if it is not locked.
