Hong Kong autumn lighting fair explores smart lighting trends

The 25th Hong Kong International Lighting Fair (Autumn Edition), held on October 27-30, featured two Connected Lighting Forums, and included a presentation on DALI from Signify’s Dr Feng Huang, Chair of the DALI Alliance China Focus Group.

In the forums, industry leaders discussed technological developments, the newest opportunities in lighting, human-centric healthy lighting and its sustainable development, according to a press release from the organizers, the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC).

In his presentation, Dr Huang discussed the evolution of DALI technology, which was initially developed for dimming and has now expanded to incorporate new technologies equipped with rich IoT data. DALI is also advancing to enable connection with other technologies, including Thread, Bluetooth mesh and Zigbee, to achieve more efficient, flexible and intelligent lighting control.

The DALI Alliance CFG did not have a booth at this year’s event, but several of our member companies had large booths to showcase their products including DALI solutions.

These companies included Signify, Sunricher, Boke, Inventronics, Cupower (Hunan Xiezhen Electronics Co., Ltd), Galoppato (Zhongshan Gallop Electronics Co., Ltd.), Emtrons, Kegu and Keytec.
