Training for DALI Alliance members in China

The DALI Alliance, the global organization for smart lighting control using DALI, has conducted training sessions for its member companies in China. The training was presented by Scott Wade, Technical and Certification Manager of the DALI Alliance, and was kindly hosted by Signify at its office in Shanghai.

On August 28, members of the DALI Alliance China Focus Group (DALI-CFG) met with Scott and representatives of some of the accredited test labs operating in China for a face-to-face technical exchange. The main purpose was to discuss technical issues related to laboratory testing and the certification process for DALI-2 and D4i products.

On the following day, August 29, Scott provided a full-day training session that was open to all DALI Alliance members. In this training, more than 60 technicians learned in depth about the architecture, product development, testing and certification of DALI technology. This included a detailed practical demonstration of test procedures for a DALI LED driver. In addition, progress and testing requirements for DALI+ devices and wireless-to-DALI gateways were highlighted.

On both days, the technical sessions were followed by a detailed Q&A.
