DiiA’s latest DALI interoperability test event, or Plugfest, attracted almost 40 representatives from 18 DiiA member companies who joined DiiA staff in Vienna, Austria.
The two-day event, held on September 4-5, offered the opportunity for DiiA members to test their DALI and DALI-2 products for compatibility with other members’ lighting products. This was the first DiiA Plugfest that was open to all DiiA members.
Testing of products from different vendors is intended to improve the quality of DALI in the field. Any interoperability issues identified by system-testing several products on the same DALI bus will provide DiiA with insights to improve the DALI-2 test sequences and certification procedures.
“All attendees were very positive about the Plugfest, particularly the first-timers, who were impressed by the cooperation between members to develop DALI,” said Ronald Tol, chair of DiiA’s Technical & Certification Work Group. “All appreciated the structured testing and learning opportunities, and gained confidence in their products.”
In line with the main goals of the event, most attendees found minor issues with their products and/or identified areas for improvement.
