Case study: A cloud-monitored, fully integrated, large-scale DALI system

We present a case study from our large DALI installations with about 10,000 addresses. Beside daylight control and presence detection, these installations interface to intrusion-detection systems, outdoor light sensors, building-management systems and emergency lighting.

On top of that, the system makes use of DALI Parts 252 & 253 to gather monitoring data, enabling this installation to be serviced and monitored in the cloud.

This presentation will show a detailed network design of how to connect DALI lines and a IP network. There is also a description of all installation steps.

We will demonstrate our best practices that were used to overcome known problems such as DALI addressing with this amount of luminaires, and bandwidth issues with many luminaires, sensors and monitoring data.

After a re-organisation in 2017, he became the Product Manager for a light management system called LiveLink Premium and the LiveLink Cloud for monitoring luminaire data and digital services.
