DALI-2 certification: Ongoing developments

To develop and maintain the DALI-2 certification program, the DALI Alliance relies upon voluntary input from its members in the Technical & Certification Working Group (T&C WG). For some of the planned work, additional volunteers are required. Please contact the Technical Manager for details.

Timeline: Phases of the DALI-2 certification program

Phase 7: September 2021

 The following Parts were added to the DALI-2 program:

► Part 202 – Control gear: Self-contained emergency

► Part 205 – Incandescent lamp dimmer

► Part 206 – Conversion to DC (0/1-10 V)

► Part 209 – Colour control: colour types xy & RGBWAF
Phase 6: October 2020

 Two new Parts were added to the DALI-2 program:

► Part 208 – Control gear: Relays & switches

► Part 351 – Luminaire-mounted control devices
Phase 5: February 2020

Tunable white colour control is added to the DALI-2 program:

► Part 209 – Colour control: colour type Tc (tunable white)

 

Phase 4: November/December 2019

New test sequences for D4i power and data specifications:

► Part 250 – Integrated Bus Power Supply
► Part 251 – Memory Bank 1 Extension (luminaire data)
► Part 252 – Energy Reporting
► Part 253 – Diagnostics & Maintenance

► Part 150 – AUX Power Supply (this is included in DALI-2 certification if the AUX supply is part of an LED driver, but stand-alone AUX power supplies are not currently certified). 
Phase 3: May 2019

New test sequences adding the following input devices to the DALI-2 certification program:

► Part 301 – Push-button devices
► Part 302 – Absolute input devices e.g. switches, sliders
► Part 303 – Occupancy sensors
► Part 304 – Light sensors

Updates to the following test sequences:

► Part 101
► Part 102
► Part 103
Phase 2: August 2018

Major updates to the following test sequences:

► Part 103

The following product types are added to the DALI-2 certification program:

  • Multi-master application controllers (previously, it was possible to certify single-masters only).
  • Integrated bus power supplies, in control gear and control devices (previously it was possible to certify stand-alone bus power supplies).
Phase 1: August 2017

► Part 101: System components 

  • Enables DALI-2 certification of standalone bus power supplies

► Part 102: Control gear 

► Part 207: Control gear for LED modules

  • Enables DALI-2 certification of LED drivers

► Part 103: Control devices

  • Enables DALI-2 certification of single-master application controllers
